Ops guys (and girls!) are the best.

They're a special type of human. The type that can look at a malfunctioning scorers' table, a broken ice machine or a busted lock and know that they can fix it. No problem.

But where's the fun if they just go ahead and fix it?

First, the venerable Ops professional steps back and says, "I don't know about this one." Hand to their chin, pensive look. "How long until you need this again?" No matter the answer, the reply will be the same: "we'll see what we can do."

And, in a matter of moments, whatever was broken is functional again. Now, it might be held together with zip ties and duct tape, but it's working again. And right now, that's all that matters.

It is an art, a gift - the ability to fix whatever comes up. Busted panel of lights? No problem. Scoreboard only showing 8's? You got it. I once saw Ops Guy fix a popcorn machine and ticket scanner AT THE SAME TIME.

HE (or SHE!) is MAGIC.
